Sunday January 11 - Baptism of the Lord -- Second Sunday Special Music with Nancy Paulis during Traditional Worship.

Sunday January 11 - How can we help at Sarah's Hope?   At 12:30 the volunteer coordinator from St. Vincent de Paul will tell us about the new Sarah's Hope at Mount Street in the Sandtown Winchester community of Baltimore.   Join us to learn more!   If you can, bring a gift from the Sarah's Hope wish list to contribute to the center.

Monday January 12 - APC Women's Group Meeting - 12:30 at the home of Kathy Nicht.  New members are always welcome.  Contact the church office for details.

Gifts collected provided a happy christmas for three families in our community.

Youth News 

Youth are standing by to host a Power Hour for you!   Need help with clearing leaves, car washing, or getting the basement cleaned out for winter?  The youth are here to help!   Power Hours are a fund raising activity for the group's summer activity.  Sign up in the hall or contact the church office.

THANK YOU for supporting the Cardboard City on Saturday November 15.  Items collected during the event are in the process of being delivered to needy organizations.   Here's one note we received in response:

"We greatly thank you for all of your items.  The gentlement of Chirstopher's Place will have great use for all the coats & items.  Thank You, Our Daily Bread & Christopher's Place."

Deep Shift Transformation Updates ...

Everyone is invited to join the Cluster Meeting on December 6 with all the Baltimore Presbytery churches engaged in the Deep Shift process.   Contact the church office for details.

You can participate in the Deep Shift process:

  • Join the Prayer Team any Wednesday evening at 7:00 pm.  The team meets to share perspectives, discuss the Ashland transformation process and pray together.  Everyone is welcome!
  • Read the November Report! 
  • Check out the Reading List of books about transformation in the church.

Denomination News 

Did you know Presbyterian's work hard for legislation to remedy social problems?   Bonnie has written a new article covering the top priorities for Presbytery in Annapolis and Washington.

Bonnie's Third Report covers discussions about the confessions of faith that define the theology of our denomination.    Check out videos of our new moderator Bruce Reyes-Chow on the General Assembly Resources page.

Mission News ...

Sunday December 28 - We will welcome Fletcher Padoko and his wife Sarah when Fletcher will speak during worship services.   Food supplies are nearly gone in Malawi... please consider making a donation for grain.  Only $25.00 will feed a family for a month.

Bible Study & Sunday School ...

Sunday School meets Sunday morning at 9:50 with classes for all ages.  Seasons of the Spirit Log Our curriculum is the highly regarded, lectionary-based Seasons of the Spirit, focusing on Luke and the Pastoral Letters during the fall season.   Can you lend a teacher a hand?  Let Ms. Debbie know if you will help with a class!

Adult Bible Class meets at 9:50 am to study the parables.  Everyone is invited to join the class as a regular member or stop in any Sunday.

Presbyterian Women invite you to join the fun and fellowship that sharing a Bible Study can provide. The November meeting is November 10 on Lesson 3 of Jublilee! Luke's Gospel for the Poor. If you are an Ashland Presbyterian Church woman, you are welcome and needed in this shared learning experience.
